Hey everybody, it’s Tawney here with PeepShow Toys, and today we're going to talk about beginners BDSM toys that I love and think you should try - and also a bit about how to bring up BDSM with your partner if it's something you're interested in trying.

So whether you are fairly new to BDSM or you haven't even remotely tried it, the most important bit of advice that I can give you is to open your mouth. Talk to your partner. I know that there is no hack around this. There's no way to sneakily bring it up, just open your mouth and say, “I want to try this with you. Let's investigate, let's educate ourselves about it”. Very important. Don't just jump in because you read a book about BDSM or you saw something on TV. That's all very very different than experiencing it yourself. And more importantly, I have a bunch of people that ask, “alright, so how do I know if I'm a submissive or dominant when I'm going into BDSM”? Why put yourself in a box like that? Try it all! Unless you already know down in your heart what you feel like you are in that relationship, explore with your partner. It might be something that they want to switch. Might be something that they have no idea, or they think their submissive and then you try out some stuff and you may find that you're not. This is not something that you need to have a label for, just enjoy yourself and explore with your partner.

So some important things to keep in mind before you dive down the BDSM Corridor: to make sure that, one, again you discuss it with your partner; two: you look and you research and you check out the stuff online, read articles about it, like really see what you're comfortable with what you're not; three, understand that BDSM is consensual, it is safe and you need to make sure that you are all in all in the right state of mind. This isn't like getting tipsy and bringing up a threesome. This is something where you are potentially going to be in a very very vulnerable spot. It is important to know that you trust the person you're doing this with and that they understand that even if they're considered a Dominant in the situation - saying, “how does this feel or is it okay for me to do this?” - does not break that role during sex and is very very necessary and very appreciated. So definitely make sure that this isn't something you're tackling on a drunken night and trying that severe dominant sort of situation and then finding yourself in a not so great mental state - and also of course after care. Make sure to take care of each other, both of you, the group of you, after you are playing cuz it's very important to get back and recalibrated into your regular mindset.

Let me introduce you to some amazing beginners BDSM toys that I highly recommend from Peepshow Toys. One thing about PeepShow Toys if you don't already know, they are all full of body safe healthy toys that you can use all over yourself. Not to worry about, you know, porous materials and things like that. So first of all, this is how I got introduced into BDSM with my partner: something I definitely recommend, spanking. So this particular [one] is the lace paddle from Sincerely Sportsheets [gestures at 3:22]. This paddle is a great beginner paddle in my opinion. It's far more sounds than it is pain [demonstrates at 3:30] and by that I mean that it sounds like I hit it pretty hard. Sounds even better on your butt. But, it doesn't actually leave a lot of marks or anything on your body. It produced a bit of redness and it has a little bit of a sting to it, but all in all I think you can really test out how hard you enjoy being spanked [with] a toy like this that isn't meant to cause pain right away. Great beginner paddle, also very inexpensive and beautiful. Look at that [gestures at 3:57]. It’s very durable too. I put this through the wringer so far -  and it’s a wonderful one. So again this is the lace paddle from Sincerely Sportsheets. Definitely check yourself out of paddle if you're looking to get a little bit into that impact play with your partner, BDSM.

Let's go a little bit more into bondage. There's a lot of different ways that you can tie yourself up or introducing tying into BDSM play. Three different ways that come to mind right away: under the bed restraint systems or other ties, rope in general and also bondage tape. So, I started out with some bondage tape and this is the Blush Temptasia Bondage Tape here it was very stretchy so it gave me that opportunity to loosen it up if I felt like I was a bit too tight, which is great for beginners BDSM before you know how tight you want to be tied up. And, it was really really easy to cut and get off. I definitely recommend though if you're going to be getting any sort of or bondage tape to get yourself some safety scissors they also have that on the site on the same page that you'll find these. So, it's important to make sure you have those cuz there might be a point where you really need to get out quickly because your brain does not like the position you're in and it makes it really easy to get you out without somebody fumbling around and looking for scissors, which I feel like we all lose in our home anyway.

So, definitely get yourself some spanking material, get yourself some bondage material like tape or, this is also the Temptasia brand [gestures at 5:39], their rope. There are tons of awesome ties that you can learn about online, and even if you don't know like Shibari ties you can still kind of wrap it around yourself, get that feel, tied up to something. You don't have to be an expert to use this in BDSM. It's wonderful. So, bust out your lube, bust out your tickling toys, your chains, your spanking material and have a lot of fun. Make sure to educate yourself and remember you don't have to put a label on where you're at in BDSM. Just enjoy the ride! Thank you all so much.
