This is indeed very rumbly, 'thuddy' even. It doesn't get buzzy. It's heavier than others. The surface is very nice and it's easy to hold, even with slick hands. The instruction sheet is generic and not specific to this toy. Use instructions are on the box and are very basic. The power/mode button is in the middle, which is unusual but also helpful as it's easy while using it to find the + and -, but it make take time to get accustomed. The power button lights, flashes while charging, on steady when full or running, flashes once to indicate a mode or level change. Press for 3 seconds to turn on or off. Press for 1 seconds to change mode, it rotates through 4 patterns. The 1st is steady. Power levels/speeds do not vary widely. However, 2 modes are ramps, it ramps up and down in intensity where the range is most noticeable. The intensity level also affects the patterns. Do not lose or break the charging cord. This is a special connector, extra long 2.5mm mini plug to USB type A. There's a small hole in the end for the plug. Be sure to insert it fully. There's no instruction on charger current. We used a 1A unit which worked perfectly. We have no idea how fast it will charge, limit to current or not. It's new, we'll see how long it lasts. 2 Palm Power Ex died in a very short time.
